Description:

This course is for students who have passed the CET 4.

1. Advanced English Audio and Video: It introduces the characteristics of English television and broadcasting programs and expands the students’ vocabulary and knowledge of various fields. The purpose is to improve the students’ ability in English listening.

2. Advanced Oral English: It introduces various kinds of oral English on diversified     

topics and trains the students’ oral English in different methods. The purpose is to improve the students’ ability to communicate in English with fluency and accuracy.

Assessment Criteria:  

1. Should pass an oral test with a satisfactory basis.

2. Presentation: Introduction one of pavilions in Shanghai Expo 2010

Description: *This course is for students who have passed the CET 4. It introduces the uniformity and difference between Chinese and western culture. Students may have a better understanding of English language and western culture. The purpose is to enhance the students’ sensitivity in recognizing the cultural differences and to improve their ability to communicate smoothly with people of different cultural background. Interconnections between language and its cultural and communicative meanings in terms of their situational, interactional, and functional features. Cross-cultural Communication and Exchange is a subject which research the relationship between cultures and business. The cultural integration is the direction, because it is the basis of intercultural business success. In cross-cultural business context, intercultural business communication also can solve the contradictions among the cultural differences of managers.
