Dear Teachers:

The Mid-term teaching assessment of the College English Section will be conducted in this month.Please pay attention to the following aspects:

1.Please check that your teaching has been arranged as required in the syllabus,and it is in pace with the unified teaching schedule.If you are significantly ahead of or behind the unified schedule,make timely adjustment.

2.Check your lesson plans(electronic courseware included)to ensure that they are standard in form and substantial in content and that they are attractive,informative and systematic.

3.After class,please ask your students for opinions on teaching,so that you can adjust your teaching methods and content accordingly to improve your teaching quality and effectiveness.

4.Please examine whether you have assigned appropriate homework and carried out in-class quizzes,so that you can keep track of students’learning pace and results.

5.Please keep and check your records of students’attendance,classroom participation and performance.

6.Every teacher should individually conduct a Mid-term test of your responsible course.The content should be from the units taught so far.You can choose the form of the test yourself,yet you should keep a record of the result,which should be included in the final score as a part of the student’s performance.

7.During the Mid-term teaching assessment,the college authority responsible for teaching and the Chief of College English Section will selectively sit in on classes.The observation record will be part of the data for teaching assessment and evaluation.

8.During the assessment,the College English Section will collect students’evaluation information on teaching through questionnaires.The result will not be made public.But the section may provide feedback to individual teacher if necessary.
